Seven Steps to Liver Health
By Patricia Adams, N.H.C.

Suppressed emotions and a toxic bowel pave the way for liver weakness (Anderson 1999: 8)

Destructive eating patterns add to liver weakness:
Eating of toxic foods/Poor digestion
Overeating
Over the Counter & Prescription Medications

Toxicity and congestion spread throughout the body, initiating greater contamination, preventing proper flow of oxygen and nutrients to cells, blocking waste elimination.

The internal environment is altered and now supports pathogens. This is the core of disease.

Step One: Cleanse the bowel. Psyllium Hulls in a smoothie or the complete Clean Start program.

Step Two: Remove environmental toxins with Enviro-Detox, N-Acetyl Cysteine, Milk Thistle Combination, Heavy Metal Detox, etc.

Step Three: Tiao He Cleanse for liver and blood.

Step Four: Gall Bladder flush (per handout)

Step Five: Mega-Chel chelation for one month per 10 years of age.

Step Six: Work on destructive emotional patterns; anger, bitterness, frustration, jealousy, melancholy, gloom, despair, etc. with flower remedies. Set boundaries and practice forgiveness.

Step Seven: Support healthy liver function with bitter herbs, especially if tasted (like Digestive Bitters), and Chinese Liver formulas: Liver Balance, Blood Build, Mood Elevator.

Overeating is one of the worst things you can do to the liver. Your hunger is satisfied before you feel "stuffed", and eating more than you need puts extra stress on the liver.

While cleansing eat no red meat, dairy products, salt, sugar or foods with added sugar. Especially avoid fried foods or foods cooked in oils. Avoid caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, and microwaved food.

Acceptable oils are cold-pressed organic Olive Oil, Omega 3, or Flaxseed oil. Do not cook with Omega 3 or Flaxseed oil, eat them raw.

Eat small amounts of acceptable sugars; honey (eaten raw), real maple syrup, and date sugar.

Eat two organic fruits per day, and all the salads and raw or cooked organic vegetables you want. Eat five servings or more and try to have one raw meal per day.

Drink pure water as often as you like, and squeeze in a fresh organic lemon when you can.

Chew your food well and sip your drinks slowly.
